John's area of specialty was storm water management, flood studies, sewer and water design and site development.

Katie L. DeMarco - Civil Engineering Technician

katie

Civil engineering technicians like Katie take ideas, sketches and specifications from the engineers and translate them into accurate, working plans using Computer Aided Design
(CAD) software.

Katie’s responsibilities at Davel Engineering & Environmental inc. call for creating all types of plans, from subdivisions to commercial drainage projects and road profiles.

What does Katie enjoy about her role?  “I like paying attention to the details and seeing the plans develop into an actual project.”

Shane J. Nelson - Civil Engineering Technician

Shane

“My goal is to provide what the client is looking for and meet their needs as best as I can,” says Shane who works closely with Davel’s engineers.

Using data calculations and raw information, like Katie, Shane converts ideas into working drawings via CAD software.

“It’s rewarding to see the plans go from paper to finished product,” he says, while working with a great team.

James R. Sehloff, RLS - Registered Land Surveyor

Jim

Jim Sehloff heads the surveying department at Davel Engineering & Environmental inc. , scheduling crews, researching deeds and creating survey maps.  His goal is to serve Davel customers by determining the most accurate division of the land, so they can make sound project decisions.

“I really love the progressiveness I’ve found at Davel Engineering & Environmental Inc.,” says Jim.  “We have the latest software and technology to do the job right.”

Joseph J. McClone - Land Surveyor

Joe

Boundary surveys and topographical mapping are the key areas of Joe’s work at Davel Engineering & Environmental inc.  He spent 9 years in the field and enjoys the variety his job brings.

What’s Joe’s goal as he approaches each assignment?  “To get it done right the first time and bring it in under budget whenever possible.”

Technology has really helped to make his job more efficient, allowing one crewman to do what used to require a two-man survey team.

Eric D. Stobb - Land Surveyor

Eric

As a survey technician, Eric serves as an important middle man.  He takes field data and converts it into office data that the engineers can use to formulate design solutions for Davel clients. GPS technology and robotic survey equipment provide fast, accurate data.

More accurate data translates into more accurate plans, Eric says. Davel’s state of the art technology is a dramatic time and cost saving tool.  “My job is to get the right data in house as quickly as possible to keep the project moving,” Eric says.
